Who we are
Arteè Room (“we”, “us”) is an online contemporary art gallery based in Naples, Italy, operating the website https://www.arteeroom.com (the “Site”). For any privacy-related request you can contact us at info@arteeroom.com.
This policy explains what personal data we collect through the Site, why we collect it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Reg. EU 2016/679).
What data we collect and why
1. Purchases (WooCommerce)
When you buy an artwork we collect the data needed to process your order: name and surname, billing/shipping address, e-mail address, phone number, and the details of the artworks purchased. Payments are processed by PayPal (PayPal balance, debit/credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay): payment data is handled directly by PayPal and we never receive or store card numbers or online payment credentials. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR). Order data is kept for the time required by Italian tax law (10 years).
2. Accounts
If you create a customer account we store your e-mail, username and order history so you can track purchases. You can ask us to delete your account at any time. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
3. Contact by e-mail
If you write to us at our contact addresses, we use your data only to reply to your request. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).
4. Comments
If you leave a comment on the Site we collect the name, e-mail and content you submit, together with your IP address, to display the comment and prevent spam. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
5. Technical data and hosting
The Site is hosted by Aruba S.p.A. on servers located in Italy/EU. Web server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited, timestamps) are processed for security and to keep the Site running. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
Third-party services
- Google Fonts — the Site’s typefaces may be loaded from Google servers; your IP address is technically transmitted to Google when fonts are downloaded.
- GTranslate — the automatic translation widget; translated pages are served through the translation service.
- PayPal — payments on the Site are processed by PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A. The data needed to complete the transaction is transmitted to PayPal, which processes it as an autonomous data controller according to its own privacy policy.
- Google reCAPTCHA v3 — our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which collects hardware/software information and navigation data (such as IP address and interaction behaviour) and sends it to Google LLC to distinguish real users from bots. Use of the service is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Legal basis: legitimate interest in protecting the Site from spam and abuse (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).
- External links — the Site links to our profiles on Etsy, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr and to our blog on WordPress.com. Those platforms apply their own privacy policies once you leave the Site.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone. Data is shared only with the parties strictly necessary to run the gallery (e.g. hosting provider, couriers for shipping artworks).

Your rights
Under Articles 15–22 GDPR you can, at any time: access the data we hold about you; ask for rectification or erasure; restrict or object to processing; receive your data in a portable format; lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali, garanteprivacy.it).
